8/20/2002 - Last Contact 1.1 has been released. There are some fabulous new features:

  • New In-Game help system to help teach you how the game works while you are playing.
  • Starburst bombs (only in registered version) allow launched bombs to be split into 5 bombs as they travel towards the enemy cities.
  • GameSmith support to find people to play against.
  • Some bug fixes and game play tweaks.

Last Contact is a multi-player game in which players compete to see who can destroy the other players' cities the quickest. You need to be fast and you need to watch your own planet as well as your enemies' planets.

Last Contact is built with:

  • Carbon technology so that it runs on both MacOS 9 and MacOS X
  • OpenGL technology for fast graphics
  • OpenPlay technology so that network play is fast and reliable
  • Game Ranger technology so that it is easy to find other players to destroy

Last Contact is a network only game. That means you will need people to play against. In the unlikely event that you don't know anyone else who wants to play Last Contact RIGHT NOW and you can't wait, you can use Game Ranger to find other players.

Just go to gameranger.com and download the Game Ranger application. The first time you run it you'll be able to create a free Game Ranger account and then you can connect to Game Ranger and meet other people who you can destroy in a quick and friendly game of Last Contact.
